Message from the President...

Welcome,
In the past several years, Americans have come to fully appreciate the efforts of our first responders….law enforcement officers, firefighters, and emergency medical personnel.

Since 1972, the Minnesota 100 Club has supported these efforts, especially in the case of those who have died or are injured in the line of duty. The Minnesota 100 Club is a volunteer operated 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization, whose mission is to raise and dispense funds to the surviving family members of those who lose their lives or directly to the first responders who suffer a serious or disabling injury. We realize money can never replace the loss or disability of a loved one, but immediate funds can be extremely helpful in easing the financial burden associated with these tragic events.

Now in our 36th year, we are honored to have given out over $340,000.00 to 250 families or persons from around the state. Recent beneficiaries include families of Minnapolis police officer Barry Delude; Melrose firefighter Kyle Weisbrick; Minneapolis Bomb Squad commander, Dan Wulff; Minneapolis Park Police Officer, Mark Bedard; and Tom Wyatt a Brainerd BCA agent. as well as a disability payments to Mankato Police Officer, Robert Sadusky and Minneapolis Police Officer Daniel Grosland. The Minnesota 100 Club is proud to support the families of these officers as they gave so selflessly to protect us.

In order to increase membership, stay in touch with as many members and friends, and to share our common interest of “Protecting the Protectors” several fundraisers are held throughout the year. We hope you will plan to join us at our renowned, annual Sportsmens' Lunch on April 24th at JAX Café in Northeast Minneapolis.

Another way to provide support, especially for all our golfing friends, would be to join us next summer on June 25th as we hold our annual Golf Tournament at Majestic Oaks.

Again, continue to look under UPCOMING EVENTS for more information on these events. I hope you will consider joining us this year and will pass the word on to your family and friends, as you don't have to be a member to attend. And who doesn't like to have a great meal at JAX or golf on a great course in June?

The annual membership fee of $100.00 has not changed in the 35 years the Minnesota 100 Club has been in existence and remains fully tax deductible. We're sure you'll agree that this membership amount serves as a small token of support for those who risk life and limb to protect our families and ourselves on a daily basis. You will find our membership application available on this web site. I hope you will take a minute to complete and mail yours back today. By doing so, YOU too are "Helping to Protect the Protectors."

If you should have any questions please contact any Board member or to request a speaker for your event or organization please contact Board Member Ray Mlinar. Their contact numbers are also on this web site.

Sincerely,
John Derus, President
